A New Day

Our expected snow hasn't hit yet so I made a quick run to the library to return books - and walked into a Great Room as hushed and hopeful as a crowded cathedral. There was one voice loudly talking...

...they'd set up a TV next to the checkout desk and a crowd of people were quietly gathered there, motionless, listening to President Obama's speech. Even those who seemed skeptical had a look of unwilling hope on their faces.

I voted for the man. I know a few of my friends did not. But I really, really appreciated that our president was talking and no one was walking away in derision or disgust - given our national situation, it gives me a good feeling for our future.

Whine

I've had a headache all day. A little while ago, right after I realised that maybe a little Sudafed and some motrin or tylonal would healp (I'm horrid about remembering to take a tablet) I sat down with Arni to double-check the troll sheets for this weekend's event. We got it all balanced out and he said some joke in a loud voice...

And tears started in my eyes. 'Cause it hurt my head. Poor widdle head - I've abused it somehow! Thank goodness the drugs are filing the edge of the pain away now. I should go back and ask him to make the joke again.

It's got to be because of all that nice white fluffy stuff we didn't get!
