Today was nice... I was up late last night and did "stocking stuffer" shopping at WalMart between 2:30 and 5:30 (my feet hurt again) then came home and fed Arn a McDonald's McBiscuit for breakfast - then fell into bed and slept until 2 in the afternoon. (6 hours. Not bad). A phone call woke me - it were my protogee, calling to say "happy birthday". I got up, shuffled about, and the door bell rang - another "happy b'day" surprise. Woo hoo! Arn was walking up to the door as they were leaving. And he hadn't eaten and neither had I. So after a sweet phone call from Opi (stuck aboard his ship pier-side), we went to Carrabba's for dinner. And a drink. I never order mixed drinks at a restaurant, but what the heck - it's my birthday! (Warning: Carrabba's does that damned 'singing/clapping wait-staff birthday thing', which they called off at a panicked "no,no!" quick-message-by-a-different-waitress from me). So. The drink, some sort of raspberyy martini, was good. Dinner was great, the dissert, 'something or other -Rosa' was WONDERFUL. And then we came home.
Arn gave me the collector's version of 'the Wizard of Oz", one of the few movies I always wanted to own. That was good too. Odd, but good. I didn't get any books... *sigh* I'm SUCH a geek. (Book geek, not computer geek)
But I have always LOVED that movie. And now I can watch it on my computer some boring night - any ole time I want to.

It feels pretty good to be alive.
