*whew* Dodged a bullet we never saw

stitchwhichGot a call this afternoon from our Credit Union. They wanted to know if Arni or I were in Ohio on a trip or something. When I said "no", they told me someone had a copy of our card and was using it to make purchases - they succeeded with $89 worth of gas but got flagged and denied on their $489 attempt at Wal-mart. Yes, our indentity thieves were buying stuff at Walmart.
The card has been cancelled and the gas purchase redeemed by the bank's fraud insurance.
Like they say, you don't hear the bullet coming. But it was nice that it didn't harm us thanks to a good jacket.
