For the first time that I can remember, doing laundry has made me cry. My brand-new black linen Del, that I made just before this reign, is destroyed. Some little nibbling animal chewed holes through it while it was in the dirty clothes pile. I didn't even notice until I'd taken it out of the dryer to be folded. I mean, we know the cold has caused the little beasties to try to enter our homes but there was no sign, no sign at all, that one had. And there still isn't. Saving my chewed-on Del. At first I thought it was some sort of strange bleach accident or something (not that I ever use bleach on linen) but the dye was fine. It just has a bunch of ragged holes of varying sizes cut through it.

Ruined. Utterly ruined.

It was a PITA to make and now, again, I have no Mongol garb... I am ashamed.

And I want to wail - it was so nice to wear! I felt pretty in it, even if I really wasn't, it was just that comfortable and, and, and - that Mongol-like.

Later I might try to use the bottom of it to make a bag or something. I probably shouldn't waste the linen. But right now, I just can't look at it.
