What did you learn today?
Apr. 9th, 2005 08:27 pmToday I took a 24-question open book true-and-false test and was given free reign in the local military Wood Hobby Shop amoung all the floor-mounted power tools. Here's what I learned:
Unfamiliar tools intimidate me, especially if they can slice through my arm before I notice that they're on.
Familiar tools intimdate me if there's no attendant around to tel me how this model is different from the one I used, oh, five years ago.
Safety glasses and over-the-head ear protection can make wearing normal glasses a challenge.
Leaning over the surface of a radial arm saw's table in order to measure, mark, and cut boards is not much different than cutting fabric - if you're a repaired spine, that is.
Vicodin is my friend.
