Saw the lawyer
Mar. 7th, 2006 01:09 pmWell... we might not lose our house, after all. The lawyer says that since Budget is suing Arni and not me, stuff with my name on it is safe. That's good news. And he says that we can sue Allstate and the Allstate agent who sold us the policy and mis-represented the coverage. He did not even come close to bringing the SCA into it while he was painting with the "sue them all and let the jury sort them out" paintbrush. Thank goodness.
But wow. $1000 retaining fee before he even starts the paperwork, then more to come afterwards. Driving a truck for your barony can be expensive, let me tell you. Especially if it should crash.
This will be over soon. This year, anyway, and we'll know where we stand. But all you SCA-types out there - only let the Seneschal sign the contract and always, always, always buy the extra rental insurance. You're not really saving money if you don't.
Now to find a thousand dollars so we can file our side of the story...
