There better be chocolate milk!
May. 19th, 2006 05:58 pmI'm on my way to Cooper's Lake. Whoohoo! Okay, maybe that was a little feeble but gee - I'm headed to a mass staff meeting, some head-butting, and some laughs. Right now I'm not sure which way the balance will tilt but I'm hoping 'heavy on the laughing side'. I've printed out all the orders I've gotten in advance (that would be - one) and a fat report of all the departmental buying we did last year to show to the other (slower) folks at the meeting and if I'm lucky, we generate some shopping lists right then and there.
Then I get to spend some time doing a little one-on-one negotiating (that's the head-butting/laughing thing again) and then.... drive home. I'm not even bringing garb although I was tempted to, but packing 'regular' clothes means that everything fits in a small bag while packing garb (did you see the weather report for Butler?) means packing much more - 'cause if I'm staying longer than the meeting, there will be more than one layer of wool in my future, you betcha! But wow - 10 hours up, 10 back, for meetings that will total less than 3 hours. Of course, then there is the socialising as we all head home and maybe even dinner or something.
This will be fun. I'm bringing two boxes of Moon Pies with me: chocolate and banana. We'll see if that sweetens or frightens the staff. Watching the Canadians react will be fun. Heh.
No RC cola, though.
