Email Lists. Messages in them grow in number while you aren't looking the same way as wire hangers do in closets, I swear. Slowly I am whittling away at the number of messages in each queue. I let it go too long in the weeks following Solstice and now I am actually enjoying playing catch-up - although I occassionally get a frisson of discomfort when I come across a thread that I could have helped with. Too late now. Some of those conversations date all the way back to the beginning of December, when I started winnowing out messages for the ones that absolutely required some sort of response. Now, the window of opportunity is past. And I think I'm on too many Lists. ("No - over 80? You think??")

But my, my, my... the videos I've yet to watch. Stockpiled in a little folder all their own, waiting for my avid viewing. Without a drink in my hand. (I know my friends too well.)

'Twas a good day. I didn't get to sleep until sometime after 8-ish this morning but that's okay. As cloudy as it was, the light in the bedroom was so dim that when the phone rang, I thought it was Arni's alarm clock. Opps. It was a friend who is cleaning out bookshelves and was offering us first dibsies. Woot! A box and a bag richer tonight, we are. And we had a series returned to us that I didn't even know he had... "Jinian Footseer" and the other books in the series by Tepper. Goodie. We're both currently re-reading books, sort of in 'mental rest' mode, and that will be a sweet one to revisit.

Our trip to his house also reminded us that we need to go through our bookpiles too. We've already decided to cull our video collection - there's really no reason we should hang on to Disney videos that we'd rather have in DVD form 'someday when we have grandkids'. We should pass the videos on now, while the technology to view them is still out there. I'm thinking that we'll take them to Activities Night or something. Most of them are kid's animation ones but some of them are 'real movies'.

I have a feeling that my copy of "The Sound of Music" won't be claimed, however. *sigh* I'm probably the only person in the world who still loves that show.
