Went to Black Diamond's Ice Castle event. Travelled with Baroness Margret - that was grand. Got to see and chat with folks I rarely get to spend so much time with. That was grand, too. It took 4 hours to get there and 8 to get back. "Eight?" you ask. See:

We amused ourselves by taking pictures of the freeway parking lot, the folks running across the empty freeway lanes to the only large (private) bush in the area, cars driving backwards in their lanes on a ramp that was mostly-empty (and didn't we envy *them*!) as well as cars attempting to drive down the grass on the divider next to us to get to an onramp on our side (stopped by a very serious officer who handed out tickets to unlucky drivers), and the multitude of police officers in their marked/unmarked/SUV/Who knows? vehicles cruising up and empty swath of tarmac northbound. And I learned that I have a "PacMan" game on my cell phone. I wish that I had put some of the 'keychain'-sized games I got in my Giftmas stocking in my car instead of putting them all in Arni's truck. We could have played yatzee or something.
The police took a dim view of folks getting out of their cars and used a bullhorn to order us all back in - but I gotta tell you, 2 hours sitting in a parked vehicle on a freeway is damned uncomfortable on your tailbone. Finally they worked a round-about and got us all off of the southbound lanes and into the northbound ones so we could take the long way around to Portsmouth.
