Didn't mean to scare anyone

After finding out that Our Youngest called at 9:30 this morning thanks to my previous post, I thought I'd better share a little of what I was posting about. Duke Janos has been Absolutely Banished from the SCA...

I've known him 17 years. I met him at Pennsic 20, when Wookie's camp was across the street from Atlantian Royal and next to Kane & Murigan's camp (they were the B&B of Hidden Mountain then.) Janos was "the Not-Squire" - too proud and goofy to agree to squiring yet always there and working or having fun with Kane and the boys. We worked on many camps and events in my early SCA years. I enjoyed watching him grow from that "Not-Squire" into a Landed Baron, a Knight, a Duke.

There are years of shared moments and griefs, of kindnesses given and received, between us. And I'm not really even particularily close to Janos, not like his southern folks are.

I grieve. None of this can have been easy for anyone, nor likely to become so.
