Taking advantage of LJ's format
May. 9th, 2007 09:17 amI know, thanks to the formatting of LiveJournal's friends pages, that you will read this entry before you read any other one of mine this morning (assuming you haven't already read LJ) so I am going to ask you to do me a favor. Don't respond to my previous post unless you are already involved in a discussion there - meaning that you have already commented and someone has responded.
I would have private-locked the whole thing now in the light of day but feel that would be unfair to those who have asked for comments or clarification from a previous commentator. So I'm going to give it 24 hours for folks to get back and to respond to each other or make arrangements to go to email and then I'm deleting the post.
I'm sorry I wrote it in the first place. Not because I don't feel strongly - on both sides of the camp - about the (general) subject but because in expressing my own dismay over the developments I simply created another arena for folks to lash out at each other. For all that we so often comment to each other, I really do forget that anyone would be reading my entries except to scan and move on. Y'all are so much more interesting!
So if you are reading LJ for the first time today, try to skip my next (previous) post. I know we're all curious as cats but save yourself the stomach-ache and move on to whatever the next post is, would you?
