I love my son...
May. 25th, 2007 03:56 amShawn told me today that Les Crane's "Desiderata" was available on I-tunes. It was my favorite album* when I was a young girl struggling with an insane mother. I don't care if folks consider it naive or trite. It lifts my heart. I've just re-bought it and am listening to it right now and it still makes my heart thrill and my eyes fill. After she destroyed it, I mourned for years.
So thank you Shawn. You've patched a hole in my heart.
*Along with "Rhapsody in Blue", "The Overture of 1812", and later, the soundtrack of "Godspell". Yeah, I know that's weird. But Desiderata was what kept me from committing suicide more than once when life was full of dispair and desperation. Hard to believe that was before I even finished High School... how life changes.
