stitchwhich: (wtf bunny)
The following is a rant that is not aimed at anyone here on LJ and I'm not in the mood to post it to SCA-snark...

When we go to the beach, or the park, or even stay overnight at a hotel, we pack certain things - we know we need shelter, food, comfort items. We need water. If we hurt ourselves, we need to either have a first aid kit or head out to the drug store/emergency room. We take responsibility for ourselves. Therefore, calling me up early in a morning to complain because an event you* attended did not have beverages for you to drink, or medical attendees on standby for your boo-boos, or that you had to mooch food off of someone else because "the parking lot was too far away and they didn't have a dayboard and I'd faint if I didn't get some food!" is not, in any way, going to convince me that you are old enough or responsible enough to be living on your own. Move back in with mommy and daddy.

Following up that complaint with a barely-hidden show of "I want a belt" neediness by telling me that the only reason you are not yet a Peer is because you don't have someone to speak for all your good points to your hoped-for Order may well lead to advice you don't want to hear. Which, given my mood, I forbore to give you this morning lest I say things I'd be embarrassed to hear myself spout.

I am going to go back to bed now. A 4am bedtime with periods of tossing and turning did not end well. As you can see. I've read my email and LJ, the news, and played the daily jigsaw. I think I can grab a couple of hours of snooze time before getting re-started on my day.

*snort*
"They expected us to bring our own sunscreen!"
I'll just bet they did. How rude of them to assume your competence.

*That's a general 'you', not an "I-read-LJ you".
