stitchwhich: (Like my T-Shirt?)
We went to dinner with Mike (Opi) on Saturday for his birthday. He and we have a 'ritual' of Outback-dining so we can enjoy a blooming onion together. The practise is so strong in me that I don't ever eat one unless he's there with me and a family member. They have new coasters and let me take two home. Right now my soda is sitting on a coaster that says, "...and then I accidently hit 'Reply All'." Oh, yeah, that is surely my new coaster.

I've got a texting one to give to a friend who's just begun enjoying that feature on her phone. :)

I've finished rolling the meat rolls. 208 in total. Thank goodness, I'll have enough to cover any "just in case" happenings during the meal. I bought cheeses today and nearly swooned at the cost. I was determined to get good cheeses but whoa! Does that take a chunk out of a feast budget. Not that anyone is going to mind as they munch. Heh.

Thank you to everyone who read my last post and suggested sauces or salads. So far, I have a Garlic Mustard, a Red Mole (milking that last half-century of the SCA time period) and some crushed ginger that is going to get made into something. I've got to find a good horseradish sauce. Not being an affecionado of horseradish, that's less easy for me but there's a handy webpage (*grin* You Know Who You Are) where I can go play. (I'm thinking that the pepper sauce sounds far too inviting to skip, especially since I'll have bread-bits left over from cutting them for the first dish).

Anyway, today has been grand. My face barely hurts and I think I can hear out of my left ear again. I was stuck in traffic on the bridge going to and coming from Hampton through the tunnel but that gave me time to enjoy a phone conversation with Brigit (going to) and another one with Magnus (coming from) as well as watching the most beautiful schooner sail by so close it seemed as though I could have jumped from the railing to the deck. Lunch with Olwyn was in the middle of all that so, yep, a fine day.

This came across on a List I was just thinking about un-subscribing from. Go figure. Warning: It's a tear-jerker.
