My little mouse is starting to malfunction. It is a cheap little "travelling" one from Logitech bought the day I got my laptop (since I hate touchpads) but I grew used to it and now I'm going to have to go run the gantlet so hated by the Luddite - trying to figure out what is good/not good for the replacement at a price I won't shudder and and refuse. Heck - when it comes to computer accessories, I know nada. And I usually default to "under $15 or so" just because I get overwhelmed (and also amazed) by the features and (ohmygod) prices of the little doodads.

If I can just nurse the danged thing through the holidays, maybe someone will rave/rant about their new (Christmas present) one and I'll have a clue. Come to think of it, I already have a little of a clue - can't go for cordless 'cause the Naval Air Station nearby screws up the signal (or whatever) but beyond that...maybe I should just buy another cheap Logitech. Other folks might bitch about it when they use my computer (they can't get used to the pointer randomly just bouncing to a corner whenever it takes a mood) but I'm already accustomed to it so at least it'd be the 'Devil I know'.

It must have been the passing of the torch...

Qoute:
" It is with a very heavy heart I have to report the passing of my beloved husband Dennis. Dennis passed away at home on Friday the 14th at about nine o'clock in the morning after a long and brave fight against colorectal cancer. He was buried in a small private ceremony attended by a few friends and family yesterday.

During his long illness, which left him mostly bed ridden at the end, he more than once expressed the regret that he had not had much time of late to enjoy his hobby of USENET discussions and that he would miss the many friends that he cultivated online.

I'm sure that he would have wanted me to let these online friends known where he has gone and why he has not posted much to this medium in over a year.

Dennis, known in the SCA as "Buri Dogshin", was a loving husband, a good friend, a wit and intellectual, an inventor, and an all around great guy.

He will be missed by all.
Thank you for your time.
K O'Connor"

I didn't much like Dennis but there were times I could respect him - and I'm sorry for his wife's loss. I know they loved each other very much.

I just looked at the inside of my head. Pretty cool. Before I went in for the CT scan I did some online research so I'd know what to expect and (oddly enough) there was a short tutorial about sinus diagnosis on one of the medical webpages so I even had an idea of what I was looking at, and for, when I saw my own scans. And yep, something tells me that there might be a form of surgery in my future. Or maybe there's a non-invasive way to treat it. I'll find out tomorrow.

But still... I got to see the inside of my head! How cool is that!
