Alternate phrases
Jan. 6th, 2008 05:58 amI'm reading a new book by Patricia Briggs. In it is a conversational exchange that contained a gem I just have to save for the next time I am tempted to cuss:
"Cheeses crusty, got all musty, got damp on the stone of a peach."
I had to read it out loud for Arni to get it... (Conveniently, the character in the book repeats it with emphasis.)
"ChEEZzes crusty. Got ALL-musty. Got DAMP on the stoneofapeach."
I SO have to remember that. I can certainly hear myself saying, "Cheeses crusty, T., I can't believe you did something that stupid." the next time I sew a seam inside out.
