I have just learned that my silence was worrying loving friends so I'm making an entry. Zack has flown off to Vegas again after a week of being home. I have been busy as can be with both boys home (Shawn took vacation time). It seemed rude to be on the computer when Zack or Shawn was home and awake (*I* was not wasting my boy-time!) and I was whupped tired when they wweren't... I think I managed to download some mail so the box wouldn't back up but that was about it. Everytime I started to answer anything, something would come up. We went to Williamsburg, we visited the Khedive Hall (where Kingdom A&S Festival will be) with Brigit so she could see the kitchen (she's not cooking after all - Calli-my-Hero is), we went shopping for Giftmas prezzies that Zack couldn't decided on for his brother and then held a late Giftmas. Man, my stocking rocked. The guys outdid themselves in figuring out what would make me grin and they liked what I stuck in theirs, too, so it was great... Zack got advice from Shawn on what to give me and now I have one of those converter things so I can hear my Ipod through my car stereo system. It needs some tweeking since the signal goes all fizzy whenever I pass near a suspended stop light, but otherwise it's nice and clear and loud.

I knitted four more bags for Zack 'on request' for specific friends of his, we played lots of Quiddler, which he loved (can you say, "Convert"? I knew you could) and I introduced him to Anita Blake stories, which he gulped down a-book-a-day - blaming me for his late sleeping "Because I kept meaning to put it down after a chapter, but...")

We ate too much food, specific-to-area goodness (Cal'z Chicken Wings) as well as "Mom-made" gumbo, lumpia, and grilled cheese sammiches.

So I'm back to my routine now, sort of, and going through a pile of messages. (Which I'm hiding from by reading LJ. I haven't read LJ for, oh, about a week.) I'll be playing catch up for the rest of the week, I think.

Edit: After reading another journal I just had to add - we've been cleaning out cupboards and one of the things I found was four (4!) boxes of opened breakfast cereal dating from Gawd-knows-when. So every morning, I crunch one box worth of the stuff up and sprinkle it on the road between our house and Bob's old place... he used to feed the birds there about three times a day and now every time I do it, I feel as though he's watching from above and smiling. It sure beats throwing out all that cereal. (For the most part, it's granola-stype stuff but I did have one big box of "1/3 less sugar Fruit Loops" that I'm sure hyped the birds up in a big way! And today was whole-wheat Chex...)
