The feast is over. Yay! I slept for 11 hours after I got home. :)

This may be the first time I was bored in the kitchen. I had to substitute carrots (easy) for Turkish Squash (acorn squash) at the last minute so instead of spending time cutting and peeling challenging curves, we had nothing to do... then again, it may well have been because Lord Moe is a kick-hinney kitchen bitch and he just got everything done so efficiently. Between him, Jordan, and Shilo, things just clicked along - even though Their Excellencies moved everything up by an hour once we were on site. Jordan even had time to go shoot archery (he's our new champion) and then there wasn't anything for him to do when he got back! We were in the 'lull' before the rush. Pseudo-rush, that is.

I don't care what folks say, the "feast guidelines" on amounts are crazy. There was far too much food per person. I'm going back to my own ideas about how much to serve.

And yeah, that means I will probably do it again. As long as I continue to be lucky with my kitchen crews, that is.

Oh - and Their Excellencies gave me a "first" award. The new baronial cooking award, The Golden Nutmeg. The medallion is really pretty.
