Christmas day was wonderfully relaxing. Arni set up the tree (we have a little 'save the planet' 4" artificial tree) and once [livejournal.com profile] master_azrael and [livejournal.com profile] opivali were over Shawn helped me decorate it while Arni and Opi hung garlands and such all over the den - since we're celebrating around the 8th of January after Zack gets here, it seemed like a good idea to do the decorating on Christmas day. Then Arni fed us into stupor with one of those Breakfast-for-dinner sorts of meals and we spent the rest of the day watching TV, playing cards, just hanging out. Very low key and relaxing! Saving the decorating helped me avoid the Christmas Blues that seem to set in on the day with our sons gone (Shawn being off from work was a surprise) and Arni and I exchanged one small giftie just to mark the day... I now have new 'crazy' socks, one of which is a pair of bamboo-fiber ones. I've been wondering how comfortable those are and now I'll know. I broke my own hard-and-fast rule (always wash them first) and put on the woolen ones right off the bat... oooohhhh, warm and toasty! I expect that those will become my winter favorites. I don't wear shoes in the house so warm feet can sometimes be difficult to maintain, especially in the den which for all it has a fireplace, is the coldest room in the house.

IN other news (or not), I'm shaky. I mean my hands are shaky enough that I can't really do any embroidery right now. It's so weird... it's happened a few times before and always if I ate something it'd be okay but today it's being stubborn. I have eaten carbs (potatoes), sugar (peanut M&Ms) and now protein (2 slices of bologna) and still I'm shaking. ARGGGgggg!
