The tension, the tension she is leaving...

I have not felt this relaxed about Pennsic in a couple of years. Or as balanced when I think of it, either. I could hold on to this feeling for a while - I think I missed it more than I knew. No banging my head against the wall. No high-anxiety phone calls full of confusion and misunderstanding. No need to cater to another person's ego in order to try to get my job done. How do you regular working-types deal with that in the real workplace without going completely around the bend or strangling your superior? My respect for all of you just rose exponentially.

And it doesn't hurt that I threw my diet to the wind and am currently munching on strawberry Oreos and drinking Pear Cider after relaxing with my husband for the evening.

Question: If you can say a word but can't spell it, or if you can spell it but not pronounce it, does it still count as being a part of your vocabulary? I feel I must decide if I have a damned good vocabulary or do I have to grade myself on a curve thanks to poor spelling/pronounciation? And as a secondary one, does anyone else get grumpy when they use a word that is correct in meaning but others don't recognise so the others 'correct' them by suggesting synonyms that are less apt than the word you originally used? I hate that. And lacking a full subscription to the OED, too often can't prove that the word I used is actually an English word. It is frustrating, it is.
