Sep. 22nd, 2009 03:33 pmWow. The woman who gives me a pedicure was so mad at her (19 year old) son over a disagreement in 'proper behaviour' when I walked in to their shop and interrupted them that she railed and cried almost the whole time she was working on my toes... I remember those days. He finally just left and sat in his car in the parking lot while she sniffed and wiped her eyes every few minutes. And I'm glad I don't speak Vietnamese. I watched their travel-video on their TV instead, to give them a semblance of privacy before he left. It was kinda fun to watch the two Vietnamese hosts tour Florida & Disneyworld and I used the show to help get her mind on to something else after her son walked out and she was over the worst of her spate of tears. She interpreted some of the host's comments and gradually re-found her center.
And my toes look like they belong to a human again. Thank goodness. I do like that lady a lot.
Yeah, I suppose I should have celebrated Mabon a different way, and I will later tonight, but it was good for me. :)
