Today is harder for the project - all I seem to find, right now, are saints who are being celebrated, honored, for profaning other people's religion, for destroying places of worship, forcibly 'converting' others to their own interpretation or path... I admit, that is one of the mindsets, requirements, expectations - whatever - that gave me a disgust for the tenets of my past religious path. I just can't bring myself to believe that the Almighty would revel in destruction and hatred. I recognise that others DO feel that it is right and proper - but, for me, God is bigger than that. I can't wrap my head around the idea that people would be proud to do such harm, much less declare a hate-monger someone to celebrate.

Luckily, I have enough material that I can re-read and find again the stories about the loving saints, the selfless ones, the wise and forgiving ones who lived the life Christ outlined in his words. Compassionate, non-judgemental, seeing the Almighty in the people and the world around them.

"If a man say, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen? And this commandment have we from him, That he who loveth God love his brother also. 1 John 4:20,21"

"Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up; does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil; does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never fails. 1 Corinthians 13:4-8"

My goodness. You'd think we were going to get giant drifts, 5 or 6 feet tall, instead of the 5-8 inches expected. The stores are packed. Like "Christmas Eve or worse" packed. help, help, we're going to have to live two days or so without travelling! help! Help!

Idiots.

I was shopping for foods to make & freeze for Ymir and was stunned at the crowds. I've never, and I mean never seen the parking lot of the Commissary nearly full. Don't these folks have cupboards? Maybe it's the ex-Mormon in me (or more likely, the ex-Live-in-the-Rockies) but we could live an easy three to four weeks off of what we've got in our cupboards and freezer.

Un-BE-leavable.
