Jun. 3rd, 2010 06:19 pmNot much to post. Bossman continues to astond* me with his Magic Recuperative Powers. Hard to believe that he was on a ventilator one week ago and now he's pushing me to go shopping, or to the movies, or on walks everywhere everyday since he's been home and "of course we're going to the Business meeting tonight and the Horde meeting this weekend. Why wouldn't we?" He drove himself to the doctor's office this morning so I wouldn't have to wake up early.
Uh. huh. How can one man make me swing between grinning like a monkey and rolling my eyes in exasperation?
We went and picked up our new glasses. I'm having to adapt to trifocals. Urg. But I do like the new frames. I won't be able to look below the bottom of them in order to embroider while still wearing my glasses, though, so if you see me sewing and you come up to say hello, expect me to squint at you and to grope for the glasses on the table before I say hi. Unless you speak first and I can recognise your voice. Bossman's new ones have those same magnetic sunglasses to attach and I talked him into getting the anti-glare treatment. He was so-so about them until we stepped out of the store into full (and very bright) sunlight. Wow. He's going to be a MUCH happier driver from now on.
We hit up Sam's Club for the supplies we'd promised for the GDH weekend. Gawd, do we love our Family - $100 worth of dining ware. And I know, just know, that we're going to end up sending someone out for extra bits by the time we're setting up for dinner. It's just that there's really no way to anticipate which items we'll run short on. But you know how it goes, we always do run short on something.
My copy of Mouse and Dragon came in the mail today. Yay! Oddly, I got two copies in separate shipments, so I'll be doing my first return to Amazon.com. Unless someone reading this is going to be attending Atlantian University and wants a hardback copy of the book (and hasn't ordered it yet. We're all pretty hard-core fans of the Liadan Universe).
Tomorrow I have to go get my brand-new car stereo repaired/replaced. The USB port isn't recognising my iPod although it did on the first day I owned it. We tested it with our Youngest's iPhone and got "reading, reading" with no resolution either. I'm not feeling the love for Kenwood right now.
And that's it from here.
* I couldn't decide between "astonish" and "astound"
