stitchwhich: (taking note)
Went to the surgeon's office, where he congratulated me (us, since Bossman has done all the nursing) on the highly-improved healing of the wounds, then got mildly chewed out... seems I'm trying to do too much, too soon. I was surprised - it's been nearly four weeks, after all. But his comments were all full of, "This was MAJOR SURGERY. Major. It is going to take a while for you to heal. You have to give it that time and don't push yourself too much. Major Surgery."

And then he'd look at me as if he was hoping the stupid monkey could understand human speech. So I guess I'd better cut back a bit on what I'm trying to do around the house. Not that I'm doing much. Drea gaave me a clue to the incessant shaking, positting that it came from 'overexertion', which the surgeon seconded, so now when I start to get that warning shiver at the base of my spine, I will stop what I'm doing and go rest for a bit. We'll see if that helps.

We're going to rig a temporary bunk for me in the back of the truck for A Day in the Middle East so I can take rest breaks. And I'm being a pill and insisting that I'm going to travel like that too! (It does kinda hurt to be sitting upright while we bounce over the bumps in the road. I thought perhaps laying down would make it easier.)
