Jun. 17th, 2011 12:19 amI just bought a new Droid. My old phone (all of two years old) was failing at a logrythmic rate and I just couldn't stand it any longer, nor risk the snowball of problems. I hadn't planned, in any way, to be spending the money on a new phone but the condition of the old one didn't leave me much choice.
The tech transferred my memory card from the old to the new, saving all my photos & downloaded tunes (actually, ring tones). I really appreciate that. I'm going to have to run around with the instruction booklet in my back pocket for a while, though. Even the keyboard is different, and it makes me laugh to see how close to an old teletype-style it is. Those, I know how to use! But this three-tiered keyboard is strange and will take a little to get used to.
Ah me. I have to re-set the ring tones for everyone but that should be fairly easy. And, of course, I'll just have to take more pictures of friends for the contacts list and download more ring tones for others, too.
After a long and productive day, I can go to bed feeling good. Gawd, do I hope I'll feel this well tomorrow after I take my meds! And I'm going to sleep well tonight - it's a slightly chilly night and the smell (unfortunate, the cause) of the wild fire just south of us is soothing so long as I'm not actually thinking about what it really is... I'm definately getting a 'autumn night next to the fireplace' drowse going on here. I think I might make myself some cocoa before I head to bed. :)
