I had a great and not-so-great weekend. Although the "not so great" wasn't bad, just threw me off from other things that would have continued the "great" trend.

Friday, besides being payday (why is there always a heady sense of freedom on payday, even when it doesn't really affect one's day-to-day spending?), was also the day we travelled to Williamsburg and had dinner with [livejournal.com profile] baronessadriana & her husband, [livejournal.com profile] argentlion & [livejournal.com profile] elizabethnmafia, and Chris & Amy, whose lj-handles (if they have them) I don't know.

(Gee, that was fun, practising all the html-stuff.)

We left home early so we could wander the grounds of the historic area, which was smart of us since the Friday-work-traffic was awful and it took us three hours to travel a 45-minute commute. But we got there early enough to stroll and read the signs outside the houses and buildings in the dusk. And found a bookstore at the end of the road. "Opps," said the charge card, "That almost hurt." Thankfully, the clock didn't let us explore the rest of the shopping area! Anyway, dinner at The King's Arms was yummy. Bossman spent the rest of the evening and the next day in sticker-shock. Poor guy, he's really not been paying attention to dining prices since our day to day habits are so plebian. But the food and the company were wonderful, as was the chance to try little noches that we'd never tasted before. I do have to say, though, that I was unimpressed by the bread. Which surprised me, considering the quality of everything else. Then again - this was not a 'feast' where one needed there to be good bread! After that we all adjorned to Calli & Drea's condo and sampled drinks and chatted until midnight. Boy, the yawns then were humongous, so off we went to get home while they turned in to get an early start on their next day of vacation.

The rest of my weekend was spent sleeping, or "not sleeping but trying to, darn it". So I didn't see much of my husband, as I was sleepless through the nights and down (or incredibly drowsy) during the day. We did make it to the Commissary and arm ourselves with Halloween candy. That is a necessity, right?

My PCP prescribed a treatment for high blood-pressure; a diuretic & supplimentary potassium pill... that potassium thing looks like it might as well be a banana, it's so huge! I was a little concerned that maybe it wasn't supposed to be swallowed, perhaps, but administered another way. Really. Wow, is it big. So I started taking the stuff today, the two new meds, and found myself freezing cold - I mean freezing and shaking. I'm sure the symptoms will fade as I adapt to the stuff, but I ended up huddled under the covers for all of the day. I'm not so cold now, over 12 hour later, but I'm still trembling. That is such a weird feeling - like I've been dieting and sugar-crashing. Only I haven't been. And oddly (maybe a good thing, eh?), one of them seems to be an appetite suppressant.

And so I am on the computer, balancing our accounts, updating this, and buying new Legos. Yup. Gotta take advantage of the sales when I can, right? WooHoo! new Legos.... I have some TwelfthNight gifts already set aside. Hehehe...

Does anyone know at what size a Word-doc begins to hit 'too full'? I'm working on one and the program is getting slower and slower as I add (cut & paste) verbage to it.
