Dec. 20th, 2013 10:10 amYesterday was my Oncology appointment. Things are looking normal - no new masses, no signs of cancer. She (Dr.'s assistant) asked me if I wanted to continue with the same daily dose of Gleevec or reduce it until the end of the three-year period... I opted to continue at the same level. I am leery about the long-term benefits of reducing it. And then we talked about 'life after the treatment period is ended'. Yay! Light is showing at the end of that tunnel. My next appointment is May Day, and I will definitely be stopping the Gleevec on the same day. How wonderful is that?
Countdown to Gleevec-freedom: 131 days, 23 hours and 50 minutes.
