I want to build an icebox to replace our cooler for Pennsic camping. No, I don't want to 'live cooler-less' - I am addicted to cold milk on demand. And cold cheese, too. And meat that is fresh. Thus, I ain't giving up my ice-block addiction.

But I really, really want to make a one-door cabinet with little shelves and a 'drawer' for the ice block. I went surfing to see if I could find information about how best to insulate it and I'm coming up with nada... I'd thought to create a box-in-a-box and use expanding foam insulation between them (assuming my woodworking skills are up to it) but then I read that the early real iceboxes had cork and other insulating layers.

I don't know. Got any ideas?

(Wouldn't it be cool as could be to have something that looked like a cabinet and was really a cooler in your camp kitchen? That you could use as a box to and from Pennsic but fill with cold stuff once you got there? How handy is that?)
