We are back from Pennsic and it is now Suds Week. There are times when I curse my "everything must be washed before it gets put away" Pennsic Return Ethic. However I will not curse it next week when everything is clean, refurbished, and ready to go back out again without that peculiar damp/musty smell longterm camping seems to invade the fabric and even the wooden dishes with. (I split an infinitive there - did anyone faint?)

Our second day at Cooper's Lake involved a phone call wherein I taught our Youngest, over the phone, how to re-pot a dying plant... I am pleased to say that the Rosine violet plant is quite healthy now, and I have hopes that actual flowers may appear before winter sets in. Last year there were none. I don't think I saw any the year before, either, which has me wondering about that plant. But I have hopes. The blossoms are so pretty, and smell wonderful.

While on vacation I've been hand-sewing tunics. I've got one tunic and one under-tunic completed, another under-tunic is at the stage where I am finishing the side seams and then all that will be left is hem & cuffs. The armbands for the second tunic are at mid-embroidery. My work was slower than I expected but I'm not worried, I should have all the shirts done well before Lloyd is going to need them. My real concern at this point is his trews. I cannot find his torn-apart Thorsberg trousers that I'd been using as a pattern so the guy may be going bare-legged if I don't get my act together! (Come to think of it, he hasn't sent me fabric for those either. I should contact him.)
