Today was Lazy Day, brought to us by Can't Sleep, Inc...

I had to take a darn muscle -relaxer just to get to sleep around 7:30 in the morning, after a night of thrashing and twitching while my legs played the part of a baby with measles. Could. Not. Stay. Still. ARG! All of which could have been avoided if I had continued to drink my orange juice every morning or eat a banana every day - potassium is our friend and one I'd not been paying any attention to lately. In fact, I'm writing at this ungodly hour because I still don't have enough of it in my system and - you guessed it - agian my limbs don't understand "relax and lay still". It is most weird for meditation to not work.

Thanksgiving was so very tasty and relaxing. It is the first time in 31 years that I didn't cook it. That felt strange but the Bells were wonderful hosts and the food and the company was excellent.

And now I think I'll return to reading the new cookbook I was given on Tuesday... the person who gave it to me accidently got two copies so decided to share. I didn't tell her how close it was to my birthday but that aspect of 'accident' makes me smile. It's a 13th century text, presumed to be originally earlier and in Low German. The authors of this translation gathered the 5 exant copies of the texts into one work, each book done with "original text" on the left and english translation on the right and then a compendium - with footnotes and endnotes on the variations and their meanings. How handy is that? Already I've found a sauce recipe I'm just going to have to try... dead easy and it sounds tasty too.
