Had a good couple of days although they've left me tired... Thursday started out with a visit to Lady Sophia's house at 6:30-ish in the morning - because I can't be awake, I swear, at a decent hour but she and Henry, luckily, wake up early enough to be willing to be sociable at the beginning of their day and the end of mine. Or what would have been the end of mine if I had not had a shopping date with Shilo just after. So we ate at Doumar's, where the air was scented with the smell of new ice cream cones being baked on the 'first ice cream cone machine ever used, at the World's Fair of 1904 (or -05 or -06)" then we hit a local three-story Mall for some serious walking. Found the new Patricia Briggs book at the bookstore there so I was a happy camper even after we came out to find that a car had burned up right next to where the two of us were parked. Man, that smell haunted my car for a full day.

Thursday night was a baronial get-together. Fun as always although I was dragging by the middle of it. Arn rescued a nice lady named Jessica, who lives in California and needed a place to stay for the night that actually had people in it. Hi Jessica! Hope the flight back was good! It was nice to meet her and chat for a while.

Friday was a visit to the Virginia Aquarium with Shilo and Arn. That was very satisfying. I wish I hadn't been dragging so much though. Then shopping for 'evening gather' supplies, then the actual gather - which was smaller and quieter than anticipated although you know how it is with small crowds, it was nice in a totally different way than it would have been with more folks. But I am going to have to re-think how to do 'heraldry nights' at our place.

And now here I am, less than 6 hours of sleep in 48 or so, and I'm up typing on my computer. Why? Damned if I know. I'm just not sleepy yet. I wish I were.
