stitchwhichI approach LJ with trepidation.... seems that people I respect and like can be more tolerant and supportive of their friend's choices of religion and sexual arrangements than they can of their political choices.
I have seen more nasty, horrid, gloating neener-neener messages posted between friends in the last two weeks than I believe I have ever witnessed in my past.
And for what? To appeal to the worst in us? To sink to the level of the barely-true telivision commercial? What?
Beyond giving one a feeling of temporary mightiness for having posted something negative and nasty, what is the goal of this behavior?
I don't get it.
