Up at five am... clear and warmish
Feb. 11th, 2006 04:58 amI made a store run around 3am - figured there'd hardly be anyone there for me to infect. :) It was pleasant outside. I was lucky in that I was in the "feeling hot" phase of the fever/break cycle so the weather outside was _wonderful_. I even drove with the window down. Found that the store was more crowded than I expected, even young children were in there. That was a little odd. I got more chicken-noodle soups and some "poor me" candy for both Arni and I and found a pair of flannel sleep pants in Arn's size to surprise him with when he wakes up. He doesn't have enough pairs of those, he tells me.
I'm wearing out my Liadan books. I might have to see if I can find any in hardback. Those and Mercedes Lackey ones seem to be my 'comfort' novels when I'm feeling ill - although for some reason I felt bloodthirsty enough to read the last of the Anita Blake novels (you know the one, where she travels to Arizona to help Edward 'Ted' find an Aztec god. Sort of.) Maybe I just needed to read something starring a feisty heroine. Or perhaps it was the penguin she sleeps with. That's always comforting. (My penguins are in a basket in the living room.)
The snow hasn't rolled in yet. We're at 100% chance of rain and only a slight chance of snow. Looks like the Ymir crowd has the same forecast, only backwards... hope all of it holds off until the baronial pavilion is torn down. There's only about 4 folks who are going to be there for set up/tear down. I know what that's like. Darn it - I forgot to put the apple cider mix in the basket for Thyre. Hope she doesn't miss it.
