Time before leaving for Butler, Pa. : 30 minutes. yes, shortly after midnight. I *like* driving at night, especially in the summer. I have an appointment with the Pennsic exchequer at noon tomorrow, so I'd best be there, eh? But first, the last email check, the mailing of a packing list to Arni, the reading of Live Journal, weather check and (incidentally) wasting enough time to eat the last of my cherries and let the dryer take care of those last-minute bits of clothing I want clean...
My SUV is stuffed to the gills and yet I believe that I can move stuff around enough to be able to try to lay down on the front seats if I need a nap. I really regret being unable to sleep sitting up. It'd make life so much easier! I've never had my 'new' car this loaded - wooden bedframe, kitchen shelves, tent shelves, two wooden chairs, three chests... wow. I guess we've upgraded since we joined the SCA. It's the bed mattress that is taking up most of the room, though. And I'm impressed that all the poles for two tents (10x12 roman wall tent and a 7' geteld which will be opened up on one side to act as a cook-tent), anyway, all the poles are inside except for the ridge ones. Pretty darn impressive packing, isn't it? Arn is incredible.
Oh - and Magnus, if you are reading this, your cooler will be waiting for you at Pennsic.
Yes, I've got two coolers in there. And 48 Moon Pies, but those are for the Morale Officer (aren't you glad?)
Well, farewell, ya'all. I'm taking my computer with me and hoping there will be an Internet cafe in Butler so I can check email occasionally, but just in case, ya'll be good.
And if you are traveling this month, don't forget to make sure that you have ICE'd your cell phone. That would mean, make an entry in your phone book with the letters I C E (In Case of Emergency) and then the name of the person you'd want called if you were unconscious. You'll probably never need it but think of how much better *you* would feel if your loved one had that in *their* phone, then reverse that scenario. Sleeping better is always good...
Less than a year before Pennsic 36. Better start getting ready!
