Arn and I got home around 3am last night. Sleeping on the waterbed was wonderful. I hated getting awake - too much to do, too much I wanted to avoid doing, and a nagging worry that a phone call early morning (Arn took it while I was only awake enough to stab at buttons on my phone... I never did hit the one that was the 'on' button. Common equipment becomes alien after too short a time away). Anyway, I was worried about that caller. And I was right to be, it turns out. Please the Gods, it will all come out to be a symptom of stress and seperation that eases after the 'back home flurry' fades. Please, Mom and Dad?

I have started to read emails. Man. Good news and bad, all mixed together. And I can't reach the admin section of the Yahoo Group that I'm a moderator for - the connection never gets past the partially-downloaded stage. Guess Yahoo isn't back from Pennsic yet, either. :)

My job there was much easier this year than it had ever been. I was home on The Hill every night, just about, before the sunlight had faded. Not always before sunset, but definately in time to spend time with my Hordebrothers before falling asleep. In fact, I even was 'home' often enough to find that wandering was something I wanted to do - that, I haven't had the energy for for so long that I'd almost forgotten where to wander to! But Calderwilde and Box/Circle were my first stops and that was allllll good. I admired the new Pandora's Box buildings, said 'hi' to a few folks who I recognised, then went to see the pretty girls at Colderwilde, get long-needed hugs, and meet two children I only knew by reputation. It was lovely.

I got to cook in my little kitchen and (of course) make plans for a better arrangement for next year. I won some prize on The Hill for having a nice tent/set-up - a little minature copy of my tent suitable for hanging on a Giftmas tree (handsewn on site by a Brother to match whichever tent they were awarding that year), a lovely red&black favor to display, and a set of placemats and chopsticks for a setting for six. Those, since Arn is allergic to pretty table settings, will be recycled into lovely brocaded bags to give as gift-holders. And maybe to keep... I mean, it IS pretty fabric we're talking about.

I didn't see any of the 'real' Pennsic, of course. My new office is localted inside (yes, inside) a 20 foot trailer. I sit in the back (near the over-worked airconditioner) at a little table with only one lamp, looking for all the world like a travelling bookie. Since the air conditioner is needed to keep the supplies at a lower tempurature that what is in the real world, the doors of the trailer have to be kept shut. So I don't see much - early mornings and the occassional day of cooler temps gave me a chance to enjoy people-watching - Pennsic TV in a good way. And, of course, there were plenty of visitors who dropped in for orders and chatting, and others who came just for chatting. I wasn't lonely during the day, believe me!

There's more to write but I'd rather read other folk's entries and start the catching-up process. It beats unloading the car right now.

*sigh*
You know how you can get used to not doing something you once enjoyed and then rediscover it and find that you really did miss it?

You know how you can rediscover something and the best part of it is who you are interacting with while doing so? And begin to really look forward to more of the same?

And then they go away...
