stitchwhich: (slide!)
It was protein. I wanted protein. Like, you know - MEAT!!!!! Which I finally figured out after I found myself browsing through the refrigerator with a round of balogna hanging down my chin while I selected a beverage to go with it. So I went out with Da Youngest to the local TacoBell and got something hot, beefy, and topped with cheese and sour cream. And now all my craving-ness is gone to dust.
*sigh*
Finally.

In other news, I turned over all my Troll reciepts for Saturday's event - which balanced, and learned that we didn't miss anyone on the waivers (I may be the only troll-type person who honestly goes through the lists and double-checks), turned them over to the senechal along with the troll sheets and that's done too. To celebrate, I deleted the entire email file labeled "Birthday". Yeah.

I've been buying appreciation gifts for my 'artisan's row' participants at Inter-Baronial 12th Night. I was going to give gift certificates to everyone but decided that was, well, boring. So my first stop was a cool little store that is one of those New Agey bookstore/health food/fresh-food bar places, where I found some really beautiful small blank books and little pouches, then on to Borders for unusual bookmarks and (of all things) a keychain that has a pewter cross that looks so incredibly 'British Isles, 600ce'. I worry that the keychain thingy will end up being interpreted as 'Dollar Tree flash' but I guess that's the risk one takes! I'm having fun finding an assortment of items to give to each artisan who participates. I talked with my (new) cook today and gave her some ideas for the feast, then surprised her and told her that I didn't care if it was 'period' and she could do chocolate if she wanted. I think she was going to fall off of her chair... but this is a big challenge for her, this feast, and I want her to feel comfortable with it. I've given her a big budget so she can be creative and serve high-cost foods... I want to make the diners, especially our brothers and sisters of Tir-Y-Don, feel like we are working to honor the gift of their presence. Which reminds me, I need to go visit them and start talking up the event and getting their wishes about how the day should go. Hmmm... maybe a fighter's practise. That would be fun in this weather.
