Curiosity Question
Sep. 29th, 2006 05:39 pmFor those of you who are in the SCA. If 'heavy armored fighting' were for some strange reason banned (say our insurance coverage exploded and we couldn't find another - or for whatever weird reason you'd find somewhat possible), would you quit playing in the SCA? And if so, why?
EDIT: I just thought of one other aspect of eventing we 'expect' - feast. IF we couldn't cook and serve a feast as 'an official part of the SCA' - would you quit? If so, why?
(I couldn't think of what activity other than heavy fighting that totally permeates the SCA in nearly all aspects of the society. Camping was about the only other thing that seems 'expected' but we have too many day events for us to not be able to easily 'roll over' to a new way. Then I thought of our feast-serving, which could be shut down by new regs or something. Feel free to suggest a something else. I'm curious what folks would think would so cripple (or not) their play in the SCA that it wouldn't be worth doing any longer.)
