That's why it's 2:40 in the afternoon and I'm still in my bathrobe. Okay, well, yeah, I don't go to sleep (generally) until the wee hours of the morning, but still - there is a wonderful feeling of decadence floating around my shoulders right now. Giftmas shopping is nearly done. Arn is going to take care of the computer for Zack (his one and only gift, but hey, we ain't rich!) since his office has a discount deal going with Dell and after that, it's just buying the foodie-type stocking stuffers.

Hosting an event on Epiphany means that the season is a tad more busy for me than it would be - my week days and evenings are filling up with helping folks sew their garb. But since I'm in the mood for that, I'm liking it. Yesterday I went fabric shopping with PP (Past Protogee) to find fabric for her, which we did, and stumbled into fabric for me, which I was determined not to buy. But it was so pretty and so unusual to find (actual 'period' Ottoman 'paisley') that I succumbed to temptation, helped by a phone call to my husband, and now I'll be a gaudy one for 12thNight. Heck, we're thinking about going to Kingdom 12thNight after all and that means I might even have a dress-up outfit for that. Who'dda thunk it?

I'm so far behind on reading email that I am almost reduced to praying for a hiccup in Windows so they all go away. Almost. Mostly, I just want to cache them until I can sit and read. For some reason, reading books has a higher priority right now than reading email lists. Which is odd, because the books I'm reading are one I've already read. And since I've been sleeping 10 - 12 hours a day for the last few days, well, let us just say that not much is getting done on the homefront.

I made a stew that I swear is the best tasting stew I've ever made. No, seriously. I made a big pot on purpose so we could eat some one night and give some to Shawn and still have enough left over to freeze. Arn and I ate that night, again last night, and I'm really, honestly, thinking of heating it up again to have more today. For 'breakfast'. In theory, the 'freeze' part of the allotment was supposed to be a new starter for the never-ending soup pot (you know, save all your scraps and bits from other cooking and combine them with the existing pot, supplimenting as needed to always have a goodly portion of rich, thick stew) but we're eating it so much that I already have to suppliment the pot. Arn doesn't want me to - he says it's perfect now and he doesn't want me messing with it. Heh. It's been a long while since I cooked something that didn't have me tumm-twisted thinking it wasn't 'as good as when I used to cook'. I kinda like that... (I'm going to break my elbow patting myself on the back here.)

My wished-for book is on order. Arn and I between us saved up enough to buy it. She (the bookdealer) hasn't actually got it in stock so I will have to wait for her to get it in California and then to forward it to me. Oy. I can do this... waiting is HARD!
