This was pretty neat: http://www.dailymotion.com/video/xf9oo_jerome-murat . It made a good finish to a long day. I'm finally online, at a quarter to eleven, after a day of shopping, volunteer work, and sewing with friends. The afternoon at the Samaritan House was grueling. I was stunned to see how many gifts were in and how man came in while we were filling requests. There was so little room to maneuver that we had to go slow in order to not step on toys which had over-spilled their shelves and were stacked on the floor. And, of course, the ones specifically set side for an individual child always ended up being stacked far behind all the 'new stuff' that came it. It sorrows me that as full as those shelves are, by Wednesday we'll be resigned to giving the last few kids 'leftover' stuff because there just wasn't enough 'good stuff' for the ones we fill at the end. The need is too great. And it tore my heart to see wish lists from children with things like "pajamas and a backpack for school' on them when my heart says it should be saying "a toy and a DVD"... these children are realists. Luckily, today we had enough stuff that we could give them what they asked for (somewhat) as well as something fun and frivolous.

I fairly flew, if one could say that about rush hour traffic, back to my house to meet with Catalena and Elizabeth to work on 12thNight garb. Catalena now has a 'muslin' for a 16th century Turkish/Venetian gown and Elizbeth's will be cut out tomorrow now that we have a good fitting 'blank' to use as a pattern. They are both going to look so pretty! I'm glad I have nice fabric to make up for being a mushroom in comparison.

Tomorrow, more toy-bag filling. Then more sewing. Somewhere in there, I've got to get that 'new' soup made.

EDIT: So you'd think I'd be fast asleep, resting up for tomorrow, right? Well, I thought so too, but my brain isn't liking the idea so much. *grump* I blame it on the sudafed. Great stuff for unstuffing your sinuses, but horrid for trying to fall asleep.
