Two things

stitchwhich: (eagerness)
The first one is that I've decided to do something healthy and completely silly. Yes, my friends, the season has hit. You see, I was in the car one day, feeling happy and perky in the First Day of Real Sunshine and my "Warble One" CD was in the player ("Warble ___s" are the made-by-me CDs of songs that I like to sing along with in the car. You know the kind. John Denver. "I Sing the Body Electric" from Fame. Bette Midler. The Andrew Sisters...). So I cranked the music up and did what us old-timers called "chair dancing" - that stay in your chair but move as if you were on your feet dancing-thing. Shoulders strutting and swaying, torso moving (isolations, for you ME dancers). Used to be, everyone, male and female, did that and I have many memories of hours spent in the base pool hall or NPO club sitting with my firnds between games or whatever, doing just that. No one stayed still... so the thought occurred during that drive that such a thing would probably, in a small way, help burn calories, increase one's metabolism, or atleast knock a few bricks out of any wall of depression. Or so my happy train of thought idly chugged along as I ran errands.

And then our world dimmed a bit and I thought, what can I do, privately, to honor someone who gave such joy? Not for 'the world', but just for myself? And up pops this memory of the car, the day, and the dancing... you know, when you see someone in the next vehicle groovin' to their music, it never makes you scowl. It may make you shake your head but you'll do it with a smile on your face.

So my silly tribute is that for at least the next 30 days, I am going to dance in my seat at every stoplight. Sing with my music and move with joy. And maybe someone will look down from on high and smile to know that the silly hasn't been stifled. Yup. That's what I'm gonna do.

The second thing, as a quirk 'cause I don't expect any response (my blog being so serious you know), is:
If you read this, please post a comment with a COMPLETELY MADE UP AND FICTIONAL memory of you and me. It can be anything you want - good or bad - BUT IT HAS TO BE FAKE.

When you're finished, post this little paragraph on your blog and be surprised (or mortified) about what people DON'T ACTUALLY remember about you.

(note: if you have a memory of me that you think is so unusual that people will think it's fictional, post it. Then we'll all guess which is which.)
