*happy sigh*
Once again, a sleepless night. And then, finally, just after Arni left for work I got - sleepy. Bone-tired, can't-keep-my-eyes-open sleepy. Ten hours later, I woke up, groggy as all get out, but so wonderfully rested.

I love sleep.

Aislinn came over last night and I totally threw her plans awry. She was going to work on a GFD she wanted to make "not for Ymir" but mentioned that she was planning on wearing her "old outfit, the scottish one" to Ymir, which just wouldn't do - she'll freeze to death in that. So I went fabric-spelunking, found some fine-wale corderoy (hey, she likes corderoy) in a dark green that will look marvelous on her and we drafted a new pattern for an early-period gown of the easiest type and she made herself a new gown. All she has left to do on it is hem the sleeves. After Ymir I'll get the pattern back from her and introduce her to the proper sleeve gussets but unless someone asks her to raise her arms, she'll look fine. With the addition of a linen undergown from my "I wish I could still fit this" closet and a wool mantle & hood, she should be warm. And glowing, because her new gown does look very nice on her. If I ever needed a gauge on how much the SCA's fashion sense has sharpened, it came in the person of Aislinn - she took a hiatus and the clothes she remembers are so rudimentary compared to what we routinely make now that it surprised me. Mistress Margret helped her draft up a GFD pattern (which she was going to cut out of - - corderoy) but thanks to last night and her trying on my linen, she's making plans to visit Denverfabric or Fabrics.com and save the corderoy for something else. Heh. I'm so glad. I love watching someone discover the advantages of linen.

Becky came over and spent a few hours with us while we sewed and then we all got take-out from Applebees. It was a very pleasant evening, with even a drop-in visit from Opi.
