stitchwhich: (Like my T-Shirt?)
One of the best feelings in the world may well be getting one's shoes and socks off so one can put sheepskin slippers on... if I could purr, I would. Next time, I take a leaf from Drea's book and bring the slippers with me.

The event is over. It looked liked folks were having fun. I've got my list of Things ThaT Worked and Things I'd do differently If I Did It Again but overall, I think it was an okay job. Certainly the folks who worked the event were freakin' awesome. Makes me regret that I didn't ask for Court Time so I could have gotten a "Vivat" for them from the guests - the exhausted, fullfilled faces I saw at closing made me want to just hug them all and say, "I love you guys." But I was just plain in more pain than I could handle* and I'd already had a couple of "foot in mouth" episodes with the Queen (sorry Rowan!) (Oh, and sorry, Christiana!) so I thought the better part of valour was to sit down and shut up.

One of the greatest parts of the day was watching Lady Sophia walk up into Court with her little boy (dressed to the nines and seeing Rowan's face as she saw who was 'escorting' Sophia... and then the heart-swelling pride when the Order of the Pearl was called in.

Come to think of it, there were a lot of 'heart swelling pride' moments yesterday. Did I mention I love my 'Drea, too? And Arni, and Ivar, and Jordan, and Margret, and definately Calli, and oh my God, Isuelte! And everyone, it seemed, loved the Coffee Shop!

I honestly regret that I can't do it again next year in the same Hall. And so does the Hall Manager, who looked up at leaving time and said, "See you again next year, right?" We left the Hall so clean he started setting up for tomorrow's activities while we were still loading cars. That is how good our folks were. (And Ragnar, don't think we didn't notice you single-handedly breaking down chairs and tables in the corner while listening to the Court agenda.)

Oh - and Thank you, Achbar, for calling me when the wedding was over to let me know that it went off without a hitch in the hitching!

*And for those who worried - the worse of the pain is gone now that I've slept a bit on my big heating pad of a waterbed. I still don't know how I caused the spasming to set in, which scared me, but it's passing now without recourse to Big Bad Drugs.
