Ah, yes, the little things
Feb. 29th, 2008 12:14 amYesterday, it was our storage shed being double-locked when we were all gathered to load up supplies. Overnight, it was two hours of sleep. This morning, it was a "check gage*" light on my dashboard (thanks, Arni!), then mild food poisoning and now... tendenitis strikes again. I procrastinated on the event tokens (little books made from a "Quartro fold", or at least I think that's what that is called) and the good folks at our Activities night helped me set the initial folds. I skipped the dinner after to come home and start slashing the 'middle top' of the folds with my trusty safety razor so the papers could be turned into a little book, then started folding them in. I'm 100 books into the project and my wrist is telling me that I'm an idjit.
Since I already knew that I'm trying to ignore the little bugger. I'm also not going to fold anymore until I've slept some and given it a break. But then it's back to work! 'Cause I really, really, want to have the books tied with blue and white string at the 'binding' and that means I have to have them all folded first.
Let this serve as yet another example of why procrastination is bad. After our first plan fell through and mail-order costs for supplies were more than I was willing to pay, I was going to just skip site tokens but I can't - folks I care about told me that they collect their site tokens and I just can't let them down. So I did a 'quickie' idea and, well, it could be better but it's still kinda cool. I mean, there's someone doing a demo inside on bookbinding and here we all are gonna be with our own little quatro...
*Yes, that is really how it is spelled on my dashboard. It makes me twitch.
