Back in the land of confusion
May. 11th, 2013 01:39 amThe testing done pre-/during the angioplasty confirm that there is significant loss of blood pressure in my lower extremities whenever I'm standing or moving my legs. However, the angioplasty was not performed because when they scoped out the arteries, those proved to be 'marvellously clear'. It's nice to know that I have no hidden bits of fat or cholesterol hiding in there but it does nothing to find a reason, much less a cure, for what is happening.
The vascular specialist had no real plan to present to me. Although since this was his surgery(procedure) day, he was rushed and not really thinking past the next patient he needed to deal with.
So there we go. I'm back to square one. I'm sure, once I get past the frustration of not having any answers about the walking/standing problem, I'm going to be quite smug that this fat old lady has a 'perfectly healed' spine with no nerve problems and 'wonderfully clear' arteries.
So two boxes checked off. I believe that the next step is going to be some sort of nerve-response test on my legs, which I vaguely remember from when Brigit needed such (I was her driver) and the agony she told me it produced towards the end. Yay. Then again - if it give me an answer, I would be glad of it.
