stitchwhich: (Lego Viking Woman)
Today was my day to have Woodstock the yellow Kia Soul all to myself. I had a CT scan this morning (it is easier to maneuver in that parking lot with a smaller car), took myself out to breakfast and then restocked the larder, or rather the fridge, before coming home.

The CT scan did not go as well as they have in the past. I've been very lucky over the past three years in that I've only had a vagal-response to a CT-scan IV once - until today. Luckily, the technician was a familiar one and had known about my predilection for such things so she was prepared and very calm. I didn't lose consciousness, just got shocky a bit and queasy (which is odd for me). I was super-sensitive for some reason so the IV needle hurt like the dickens and then made the ceiling swirl any time it was jostled or used, so we're thinking that was the trigger. Nonetheless, my heart didn't actually stop as it has in the past so everything was fine. If embarrassing.

Oh well. These things happen and then life is back to normal. Everything else went well and I took myself back out to our cheerful little car where I'd already stashed a can of Diet Pepsi in a insulated bag full of 'no leak' ice cubes. Man, was that refreshing! I actually just sat in the car with the windows down and drank my soda for a few minutes while I read a little bit of a book. We're checking out the Pendergast mysteries. I haven't decided if I like them or not. We bought one book at Sam's Club, which turned out to be #13 in the series, but I'm intrigued enough to want to read a couple more before I decide if they are worth a full plunge into the whole set.

I came home and napped, then made a meatloaf for dinner (the Bossman loves him some meatloaf), and am now on the computer. I have sewing to do but am unmotivated. Frankly, I just want to go back to bed. This morning has left a pall over the day, I think.
