Jan. 5th, 2018 02:25 pmWe got somewhere up to a foot of snow (10-12 was the report from around us) and hunkered down to wait out the poor road conditions. Bossman worked from home, which was nice. He doesn't often get to wear sweatpants while dealing with electronic paperwork. Then he attempted to clear our walkway - that was a no-go. The wind was gusting up to 60mph and the snow was 'falling' sideways so he decided that was wasted effort.
Our TV cable box was defective. He's headed back to the company store to trade it in. We read, a lot, and slept a lot. It was restful, honestly, to not have the TV blaring.
We have a cold (mid 20s f)but clear day and the roads are starting to melt a bit. The combined ice & chucked snow will be dangerous once the sun goes down. Tomorrow is another clear and below-freezing day but I expect that by sundown we won't have much left on the roads.
The temperatures are unusually low for our area. I'm not looking forward to our power bill.
