We hosted a herald's work night tonight. It was good and we got a lot done but I could wish that some folks had volume controls on them somewhere. My husband, who had wisely retreated to his computer in the guest room and shut the door and put on his headphones, couldn't concentrate due to the loud voice of one of our 'teachers'. I suppose it is an occupational hazard. At the time it didn't seem so bad, rather like sitting in the front row at a rock concert and having to talk though the ambient noise to the person next to me. YOur ear learns to hear who you want to hear. Afterward, I realised I really did have a headache. I shall have to work on helping the person modulate their speaking voice - they were wonderfully helpful and I've missed seeing them so don't want to scotch their involvement in any way.

Maybe I can install sound baffles in the kitchen. :)

Otherwise, the day was great. Physically things are much nicer as various little virii and complaints fade away, nice enough that I actually enjoyed puttering around and cleaning up things. I could do with a little more of that. Perhaps enough to get the overdue laundry taken care of?

The Christmas Card War has been won by the Educaitlin although I have a few more volleys to send out. Gravy, do I looove this season!

As grey and overcast as it was outside all day, I was stunned when I finally 'braved' the weather to go put cards in the mailbox and found that it was pleasantly warm, so warm that I kept the door open for a while, just to sniff air that wasn't re-circulated through our heating system. It's supposed to be warmer tomorrow. Feels as though I should do some spring cleaning.

And apropos of nothing, howtheheck do cobwebs appear so darn fast and in such weird places? And why don't I notice them until guests are coming over? For that matter, when, exactly, is it that the door of my oven gets splatters on it when I hardly ever cook? What is WITH that?!?
