Saw my doc. He was appalled - that I had the (short version history) past I'd had and that it was interfering with my present... got a Serotonin uptake inhibitor medicine (read = antidepressant) and something for the panic attacks, a referral to a therapist along with a compliment about being smart enough to ask for a professional, AND (woohoo!) a prescription for massages! Assuming that works with my medical insurance, that is. But hey, it's worth the shot.

My meds are short term, a couple of months. That's a relief. He said, "To heck with menopause, what you've described would overload any normal person." Oh, and he told me to up my carbs for more veggies and fruits. I'll have to work on that.

[Edit] I was so relieved I made Arn take me out to dinner. While I feel like my conversation should be punctuated with "Oink" every other word, poor Arni is so stuffed he doesn't want to sit down, much less think about laying down. It was a 'good cook' day at our local Applebees.
