From an informational page about food/diet post-surgery for people like me:
Also, he said that because I now have decreased absorbtion of most foods, I'll never have to worry again about my cholesterol, so if I want to eat a burger and fries three times a day, I can. It is essentially the exact opposite of the 'healthy eating' habits that we were all taught growing up.

Not that I will do that, but I mourn to learn that most ruminate-foods will be off my plate - forever. Most fruits, as a matter of fact, or vegetables with natural sugar (like carrots). Well, damn.

And I'm going to have to work at gaining weight, if the need arises, rather than losing it, which will be the 'normal default' for me from now on. How weird is that?

Who knew cancer could cause such a thing?
