In this time of confused sleep rhythms (again), I have just successfully (one hopes, it sure looks like it) downloaded two new-to-me books from the public library to my Nook.
Whoop!
There's nothing like a new story when a person isn't sleeping well. Goodie! I got a copy of easy fiction tales so I won't mind missing out on details while I'm groggy or get frustrated with a convoluted plot. It's an art, finding something to read when one's body won't relax but one's mind is beyond ready for rest.
In other news, I was awakened to learn that we had guests over; Ivarr, Opi, Clair, and um, I can't remember his name, darn it! A rapier fighter we only see at practises, for the most part. They were all here to set up the baronial pavilion in our back yard so it can air & dry. I gather that it was put away wet after the Golden Rose Tourney.
I had meant to dedicate the day to sewing, but ran a quick errand (got my [repaired] wedding band back and on my finger again, and rushed to Sam's Club to buy fresh berries) then came back to learn that the person I'd bought the berries for wasn't coming over after all. I didn't get any sewing done, but I did get some TV time in with the Bossman, ate the berries for lunch, and started a pot of beef soup. It is only broth, onions, and beef right now but it will soon have sliced carrots and noodles in it. And judging by the smell, it's going to taste great.
Tomorrow is a potluck heraldic Letter of Intent meeting. That will be fun. I'm bringing fried chicken. Because I'm lazy.
